TAOMOBILINAS. Handmade toys from Madagascar
On the dusty streets of Toliara, or the sandy alleys of Mangili, Ifaty and the other villages along the south west coast. On the red dusty roads around Isalo and further north on those of Ambalavao, Fianar and Manakara, on the central east coast. Along the flat bumpy roads of Antsirabe and over the hills of Antananarivo. Amongst the market crowd, in the villages, on the side of the road, you will always spot some kid pulling one of these taomobilinas. Small toy cars (or sometimes even boats) made of thin, bottles, carton, wire and everything else may be found on the street, in the garbage or on the beach. The more I travel the more I realize that happiness has nothing to do with money. And that imagination costs nothing.
